Have a chat while the kids run about. Talk about feeding, upcoming operations, coping and social issues. New parents and expectant parents particularly welcome.

Young Cleft Support Group
Our first Young Cleft Supporters Group meeting held on Sunday 1 March at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Education Institute was very successful, inspiring an abundance of healthy discussion and lively positive interaction between young people (aged 9 to 16) and their parents alike. The level of commitment and enthusiasm within this group was amazing and we had attendees who travelled from as far afield as Wodonga and Bendigo to take part.
CleftPALS recognised that there was a significant gap in our support service, particularly to older kids affected by the cleft condition. The Young Cleft Supporters group aims to bridge this gap. This initiative will provide a social, personal and information network with other like-minded young individuals affected by the cleft condition. This informal forum provides young people and their parents with the valuable opportunity to share their stories and journeys not only amongst the group but to the wider community who may be searching for avenues of support for older cleft-affected kids.
